    Polyglycerin - PEG-drug Conjugates

A novel drug carrier for small molecules (pharmaceutically agents) or diagnostically compounds has been developed. The drug carrier consists of a dendritic polyglycerol (PG) core to which the pharmaceutically agent or the diagnostically agent is covalently bound through a cleavable linker. Since one carrier molecule consists of several glycerol units, there are more than one binding sites for the active compound which allows high loading of one carrier molecule with several active compounds of the same or different kind thus enabling the combination of a variety of effective compounds at the same time, while side-effects, such as toxicity, are effectively reduced by a polyethylene glycol shell-like structure.

Method for Restoring BMP-Receptor Signaling in a Cell

BMP signaling is essential for developmental processes and tissue homeostasis and therefore highly regulated. Defects in BMP signaling can cause different disease as for example pulmonary arterial hypertension. The inventors found that cGKI interacts with BRII and enhances the BMP receptor Smad signaling as a adaptor protein via a novel mechanism.

Mixing Chamber for Constant Bead Concentrations in a Suspension

The present technology offers an automated 8 well mixing chamber that guarantees a uniform distribution of micro particles in a suspension for every single measurement. The chamber construction allows their use in combination with liquid-handling-roboters, which are common in High-Throughout-Screening. The uniform distribution of the micro particles is achieved by creating a turbulent, quasistatic state in the suspension.
